Mexico 2014 World Cup Shirt

On 12 October 2013, the Mexico World Cup Home Shirt 2014 was unveiled officially by Adidas and Mexican Football Federation(Federación Mexicana de Fútbol Asociación, A.C.), the governing body of association football in Mexico, which administers the Mexico national team, the Liga MX and all amateur sectors, and is in charge of promoting, organizing, directing, spreading, and supervising competitive football in Mexico. Mexico national team was qualified for the 2014 FIFA World Cup, which was the 15th World Cup it had participated in, and it would meet Brazil, Croatia and Cameroon in Group A. In addition, the squad had reached the quarterfinals both in the 1970 and 1986 World Cups.

The debut of the home shirt showed the hope and optimism of the whole country. It is predominately green, unique and exquisite. The white “lightning” from sleeves to the chest and the badge Mexican Football Association placed in the middle of the chest show distinct Aztec culture perfectly and highlight the national pride. Besides, the white and red “lightning” on the chest looks like “M”, which symbolizes Mexico. Other well-designed details are shown on the shirt, too. For example, indispensable Adidas logo is above the badge, and “MÉXICO (Mexico)” is printed at the back of the collar to pay tribute to the country.

The new home shorts are white with red Adidas three stripes on both sides.

On 10 May 2014, Miguel Herrera, the head coach of Mexico national team announced the latest list of the national team players led by Javier Hernández who is commonly known by his nickname, Chicharito(little pea).

On 18 October 2013, Herrera was appointed interim head coach of Mexico, but on 2 December 2013, it was announced that he would be still the coach through the 2014 World Cup. Fortunately, the team successfully qualified for the knockout stage of the World Cup. What’s more, it was he who helped Mexico national team win CONCACAF Cup in 2015.

However, not everything was gonna be alright. Herrera was dismissed quickly after the big victory because he punched an announcer Christian Martinoli in his neck at the Philadelphia International Airport in an alleged physical altercation, which had a bad influence on the team. Mexican Football Federation President Decio De Maria said:“After listening to the feedback from my colleagues who participated in the survey, I made the decision to dismiss Miguel Herrera as head coach, which is not easy, but is correct.”

Javier Hernández, as an extremely excellent footballer, has got a lot of trophies by now. He helped Guadalajara win Mexican Primera División in 2006; he helped Manchester United win FA Community Shield in 2010 and Premier League in the 2010-11 and 2012-13 seasons; Hernández helped Real Madrid get the title of FIFA Club World Cup in 2014. As a national team player, he helped his team get the titles of CONCACAF Gold Cup and CONCACAF Cup.

Fans are able to wear the shirt to support the team. The 2014 Mexico Home Shirt is stylish and will suit you very much in your daily life.
